Event Ambassador Spotlight: Ghaith Sankari

Ghaith Sankari graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in AI and NLP from the University of Aleppo, Syria and now works in Dubai. Apart from being a DeepLearning.AI Event Ambassador, he’s also a mentor for our AI for Medicine Specialization.

How did you become a part of the DeepLearning.AI community? 

If you want to make a big difference to your community, you have to collaborate with people who believe in the same principles and can help you add the most value. For me, that was DeepLearning.AI. I found out about the company when I enrolled in your Deep Learning Specialization. As a student, the vision of trying to build an AI-powered future resonated strongly with me. I decided to become an Event Ambassador and speaker for the Pie & AI events so I could bring others into the AI community. 

What has the experience of being an Event Ambassador experience been like for you?

We rarely achieve excellence alone – if we want to make the world a better, more empathetic place, we have to do it together. So far, I’ve hosted 5 events and been a guest speaker at another 4. During these events, my goal has been to highlight the importance of AI in healthcare and get talented people to join our AI and data science communities. Working with DeepLearning.AI also provided me with the experience needed to kickstart a new event series with global data science experts.
